Laap Beef (Beef Salad)


Laap is one of the national dishes of Laos. This is a recipe by Lao News Agency, published on March 07, 2005.
Ingredients:
* 450 g prime beef
* 2 chopped garlic cloves
* 6 fresh chopped coriander leaves
* 2 teaspoons of fish sauce
* 2 teaspoon of lime juice
* 7 small sliced shallots
* 4 chopped red or green chilies
* 1 sliced lemon grass
* 1/2 cup fresh mint sprigs
* Black pepper
Preparation:
Cook the beef until medium rare and cut into small and thin slices. Pound together the garlic, coriander, pepper, sauce, lime juice, and salt until smooth. Add the cooked beef and stir. Serve on plate, then sprinkle the chilies on top and garnish with the coriander leaves.
