Steak, the Lao way

I am not much of a steak person. But after watching “How to make Laotian steak & spicy sauce” by Kai, I want to give this recipe a try. Kai states, ” Lao steak is very easy to make.” From the video recipe, it does look easy to follow. So go ahead and give this recipe a try. Make sure you have warm sticky rice to go with your meal.

For the Lao spicy sauce, he uses the same Three Crabs Fish Sauce brand like my mother. This is a brand from Vietnam. I found out that a great deal of Laotian families in my local community have a fondness for this brand. Many Laotians like to use Three Crabs Fish Sauce brand in their green papaya salad because it has a “nuah” or MSG taste in the sauce. If you don’t want a strong taste of fish sauce, then try a Thai brand of Squid Fish Sauce or Tiparos Fish Sauce.
