I’m Not A Plastic Bag

by Ginger

I think Sam’s club got the right idea about not bagging their customers purchase, it’s okay if you live in the boondocks like me, and just throw everything in the back of my trunk (my car that is), what about city slickers, I think using reusable shopping bag would be a good alternative, but there’re so many dorky looking ones out there, that some of us might not feel confident about using, you obviously don’t want to look like your mom or grandmother, and those might not be stylish or cool enough for some of us.

There’s a famous handbags designer named Anya Hindmarch, which some of you might know her from her famous hand bags by the named Clothilde, a purse that ranged from $1,100 - $1,990, funny that I write about this because I’ve never heard of her before until she made ‘I’m Not A Plastic Bag’ reusable shopping bag.

I'm Not a plastic bagThis is the cool bag that I’m talking about, it’s one of the hottest items in the UK, and it will be available in the US on June 20th in all Anya Hindmarch stores, Ron Herman and Fred Segal Flair for just $15 and from Holt Renfrew in Canada for $18 (Canadian Dollars). Due to overwhelming demand purchases per customer will be limited.

From July 18th ‘I’m Not A Plastic Bag’ will be available to buy from selected East Coast Whole Foods Market stores.

This is a campaign to reduce plastic bags from landfill; you can read more about it here.

  1. That looks like a cool bag for grocery shopping. I have one bag from the local grocery store chain (AH) that I carry to the store everyday to put my grocery in.

Another thing that I bought is a personal shopping cart with two wheels for heavy duty shopping. It's a normal thing here when people walk to the grocery store and pull their food back home.

If you go to the Kansas City Farmer's Market, they sell these shopping carts. It's nicer to do the shopping and not having to carry loads of plastic bags.

If I do a small shopping after school, I just put my grocery in my back pack.

  2. I had the metal cart while living in NYC, I love Farmer's Market, but ours' is in Thursday mornings, so my dad usually would buy me vegetables and fruits.
