   I read about this not too long ago, that they wrote the law of the land.  Some wrote family recipe, or certain ways of doing things.  The Thai ‘bai larn’ were slightly different that it looked like old, old thick paper that they kept them rolled up.  They also used it to write Buddhist manuscript back in the olden days.
