Aloe Vera for Acne Treatment
I think most of us knew that Aloe Vera (also known as Varn Harng Khar in Lao, Varn Harng Jora Kae in Thai) has been used externally to treat various skin conditions such as cuts, burns, and eczema. It has alleged that sap from Aloe Vera eases pain and reduces inflammation, might be because of the cooling factors in the plant.
It can also be used to treat Acne, first you have to wash you face, then slice the lower part of the leaf to open, use the gel and apply to the Acne area; this will help with the healing process, especially recommended for those that like to use homemade remedy for treatments.

Wow, I didn't know Aloe Vera can treat eczema. My youngest sister has that problem as a kid and the prescription was outrageous. My parents spent thousands and thousands of dollars on treating her eczema.
When I see this plant I think of my grandmother. She has a garden full of flowers and herbs and has a couple of pots of Aloe Vera. We didn't have one at our house until we came to the US.
I was fond of this plant and bought a couple of them. One went to college with me for four years. It was nice and big when I saw it at home a couple of years ago. The other one my mother killed it by either given too much or too little water.
This is funny but I wanted to bring my plants with me here. The two plants that I had with me through college were very special to me. The aloe vera saved me a few times.
Thanks for posting. I will go out and buy me a cute little aloe vera now this weekend.
My family loves this plant. My parents use it to ease joint pains
too. I use it on my face (to moisturize) sometimes. But it does feel
slimy until it drys up. It's also good for burns, cuts, and scraps. I
think we have three different varieties in the garden, but one of them
reigns above the rest.
Hi Darly and Salat, I read in a Thai magazine once that they juice the Aloe Vera with other fruits but haven’t tried it myself. I came across this article, from Forever International, Issue 59, February 2006, page 5; which mentioned all the good properties in Aloe Vera.

Thanks for the wealth of info Ginger. Last summer when I was home a friend gave me a couple of packages of aloe vera to eat. She bought them from a Lao grocery store.
It looks like pickle aloe vera and tasted very good. Have you seen such thing at your local Asian grocery store?
I’ve never tried pickle aloe vera, but I do like pickle ginger, and it’s very spicy.
