  1. Darly, it was an interesting interview about raising chicken.  My cousin has a chicken farm too in Fort Smith. The majority of the Lao people from my home town, Clovis moved there because of the chicken factory (Tyson chicken).  I know it cost a lot of money to start a chicken farm and you don't immediately make any profit because it evens out for the supplies and maintenance of the farm. I know one thing, it sure is a lot easier to be a farmer here than Laos!

  2. Hi Karmadiva,

I thought it was a cool show to watch. We have relatives in Arkansas that run chicken farms too. We also have relatives in Texas that also run chicken farms and raising cows.

Interestingly, these relatives are on my father's side of the family and from Champasak Province. They were farmers back in Laos so perhaps it is easier for them to take up this profession, rather than taking a 9 to 5 job. They were used to being their own boss and wouldn't be happy I think working in an office and having to deal with people on a regular basis.
