Simple Lunch
I won’t mind having a nice warm sticky rice, whether purple or white kind with some beef jerky and the famous Lao green papaya salad for lunch. After a simple lunch like this, I think I can last all afternoon working in the office. It beats the peanut butter and jelly sandwich that I normally have for lunch.

I like eating Kao Kum but have not seen it sold around here. You are right; I would love to eat beef jerky or sein sa vanh and Tum buk Houng with white rice for me, every day. One of my co-workers got all excited that you have been eating peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Lol.
You can bring some back when you go to Laos.
My mother bought a few kg back to the US. Usually the purple rice at the Asian store is not good, too tough for some reason even with mixing with the white sticky rice.
The purple sticky rice you see above is what my mother bought in Vientiane. A lady came by my aunt's house to sell it to her. We tested it out by making a batch and took it to Vang Vieng for lunch. It was nice and soft. Too bad I didn't bring some back with me.
Just take some ziplock bags with you when we go to Laos so you can stock up on a few goodies.
I guess I'll just have to ziplock everthing that I like.
