Beef laap on a bed of mixed lettuces

One cup of hot chocolate

Peanut butter and jelly sandwich

Dutch food, stamppot
Green tea, orange and mint flavor

Tum cucumber is perfect for the hot summery days. It's very refreshing, especially with lots of cherry tomatoes. Nice pictures too.
It reminds me of Laos and my uncle who used to make the dish with ginger. That's why I added ginger to the tum. If you have ginger leaves, then you can chop it and sprinkle on top. That was how my uncle made the dish.
I only ate it one time in Laos when I walked to my Grandmother's house. My uncle was there and looking for my Grandmother. He broke into her kitchen and made some food for us to eat.
Sadly he is the same one that sold 25% of the land without telling anyone. So, when I eat tum maak dteng, I have both the good and the bad memories of this uncle.
On a positive note, I'm going to make dish for dinner with grilled chicken. Maar gin khao der everyone.
