Lao Voices

Last Saturday I was out walking around for some fresh air and a bit of grocery shopping at the local Chinese grocery store and saw whole bunch of people gathering around the canal on the main street, leading to Rotterdam Central Train Station. There were booths with various items on sale, from clothings, paintings, to all sort of toys. Added to the excitement is the smell of what else but Chinese food at a few booths. Since I just ate lunch at Sub Way Sandwich shop, I didn’t have room for Chinese food and sweet treats, like those balls filled with soy bean paste, sprinkled with sesame seeds.

Now thinking back, I should have bought a few pieces of fried chicken. That would be perfect with my green papaya salad.
