Little mighty boat engine

by Darly

A few months ago I posted about taking a buk to Ban Keun and showed a set of photos for Sim. Here is two short clips that I made for him as well. I thought he would like to see something like this. Unfortunately, this unique little boat will be out of business next year. There will be no need for a buk and these drivers anymore since the new bridge will be completed some time next year. For a person who can’t swim I am glad to have used the service of the buk here at Ban Keun and as well as crossing to Wat Phu.

When the new road is completed for the land route to Wat Phu, there will no longer be a service for the buk there as well. The next generation will not even know what a buk is, except from pictures and they would probably say that we were Tai Ban Nork for using such a method of transportation.
