Writing About What We Love and Not What Others Want Us to Write
Sometimes I find myself writing about topics that other people would ask me to write, not necessary the topic of my choice, just like I’ll be posting a series of post on Fashion, of ELLE Fashion Week Autumn/Winter on my blog for the next week or so, I’m doing it mainly because someone has asked me to translate the event from Thai language to English, which I did for him before in the past. When people ask me nicely, I don’t mind doing things for them, but I don’t like being pressure into doing things, come to think about it, I’ve often received e-mail such as this.
One of my commenters made a good point that I should write more of the things that I love. Have you ever wonder how people came up with their user name? What were they thinking when they made a comment and have to type in a name, this one is obvious, Funny because s/he thinks it’s funny of me to write about topics that I don’t want to write about. I somehow don’t find that statement funny, and the Haha at the end doesn’t make the statement any funnier, sort of annoying IMHO. I don’t recall saying that “I don’t want to write”, but more like “I don’t like to write,” which is different from “don’t want.” What if s/he thinks that I’m stupid or that my post is stupid, I guess the user name would be stupid, simple and to the point, no explanation needed.
I love comments, and thank you for pointing this out to me; otherwise, I wouldn’t have figured this out for myself. ![]()
