Sala Kham was built a little over a year ago. It has a great view of the river and a favorite spot for the locals to hang out and watch the sunset. The finish line for this year’s Boun Suang Huer or Boat Racing Festival was in front of Sala Kham.

I only went by the sala once during my stay in Pakse to take pictures of the sunset before heading over to the night market for grocery shopping. The next time I am in Pakse, I will definitely sit down on one of the benches and take my time watching the river and the beautiful sunset.

  1. Very nice pictures.
The river is right next to sala. Don’t they worry if it might be flooded. I wonder.
Darly, I get dizzy just looking at the pictures. You know me and body of water.

  2. I asked that same question but there is a wall there to protect the sala from the flood. The wall has been there many years. If the salad is flooded, that means the entire area will be flooded as well. That is the low point near the main bridge. Long time ago that area was nothing more than a forest.

  3. This temple will be on my favorite places to visit.  Building it next to the river is an excellent choice… The flood won’t be a problem because I have faith in their construction methods.
