Lao folktale that was included in the book box library for the four schools in Laos for the year 2007.

  1. Thanks for posting the picture Darly.  I don’t think I’ve ever heard of this folktale. Does it translate to English as "Little miss …"?  I can’t be sure if it’s their name or some other meaning. 

  2. Hi Salat,

    I think it’s not the name of the girls but more like a concept to teach us something. Nang Lah is like the last girl or youngest girl in the family. Nang Lounh is like someone who comes last or later. So I wonder what the moral of the story is. Have to read the book to find out.

    When I go to Laos next year I will buy a suitcase full of Lao books. :)
