Wat Pakhouei Samakheetham Xaysathane

I am a fan of great architecture and I’m very fond of temples and church buildings. When I go on vacation I would try to visit churches or temples so I can study the details of the constructions and take pictures. During my stay in Laos I tried whenever possible to visit temples in the area where I was staying. There was this one temple a few meters near my aunt’s leased home in Vientiane that captured my eyes. As soon as we were driving to my aunt’s house I felt drawn to this wat and I wanted to go inside to take some pictures.

I can imagine my Grand-Mama going to the temple in the morning for the Morning Alms Giving everyday for the rest of her life. If I have the money I would buy that house so my Grand-Mama can live there with my aunt and I can go visit once a year. I don’t think I would mind waking up to the sound of the drums from the temple at the crack of dawn.

If you are ever in Vientiane, make sure to take the time out and visit this small but beautiful temple.
