Floating Restaurant

by Darly

The road along the Mekong River between the Lao-Nippon Bridge and Sedone Bridge comes alive in the early evening. Food vendors would set up stalls selling various Lao dishes, from ping kai, tum maak houng, and deep fried meat balls with spicy sauce. There would be music playing and people would just gather around eating food, drinking Beer Lao and just chill. Some people would rather walk down a few steps and hang out with their friends and family members for a more relaxing atmosphere at a floating restaurant.

This is the best location to watch the sunset. You have to be there to witness the sun as it fades away on the right side, behind those trees. Many tourists would come to this spot to take the perfect “sunset” photos.
