Lao Wedding Part 1

Since today is Valentine’s Day I thought it would be fitting to share with you of some photos from a wedding in Vientiane on January 13, 2008. It is a trend in Vientiane to have a Baci ceremony at a bride’s home in the morning and then a reception in the evening, at a restaurant or at a hotel. This makes life a lot easier for the already stressed out bride and groom.

After the Baci ceremony at a bride’s home, guests are still treated to delicious Lao food but the real celebration doesn’t start until the evening with a big blow out party.

Beer Lao

No Lao wedding can be without Beer Lao, the best beer in Asia. Cheers to the bride and groom. May they live happily ever after.
