A favorite dish for those that like to eat bitter things as well as frogs. Many people would use pork instead. That is quite creative to take something from nature and turned it into a delicious meal.

  1. Let me guess, recipe of your relatives in Pakse? :)

Substitute pork with frog. It was my favorite when I was little kid in Laos. Every time my grandmother going to make this, she would sent me to collect the flower from the tree.

  2. Hi Dallas,

Thanks for correcting me. I was looking at laap moo pics when I made that post late last night. It was stuffed with frogs, not pork.

Your grandmother giving you a task of collecting flowers from the tree reminds me of my grandmother too. They sure know how to tell us to go climb something for food.

  3. Must be a Lao Southern thing because I also love this dish. :)
