   I was really looking forward of weir and alexandra again in this lakorn..but since he already has tur kue cheeewit, they made cee do this…this makes me sadd…cee and alexandra dont look good together at all !!! i wish weir and alexandra will do another lakorn together when she comes back..cross my fingers

   Interesting from a male perspective that you’d view this as a new toy (unless you know something that I don’t  ).  I don’t think it’s up to Alexandra, when you’re an actor or actress in Thailand, you don’t have much saying as far as whom you’re pairing with, the producer or they called it ‘big people’ have all the saying, you just play your part.  They did pair Alexandra with Weir in another Lakorn but she turned it down, I’m thinking that it was not meant to be.  As for the sneak peak, I’m surprised that Alexandra still has her Lao northerner accent, don’t tell me regardless of what roles she’s in, this is going to be her official accent, defeats the whole purpose of acting unless the producer specifically wants the Lao northerner accent, it sounds pretty, but I don’t know if it’s appropriate for the region and movie.

   Well, you are the brave one to ask such question about her accent. I was thinking the same thing. The two clips are a bit short but you can tell the others are speaking a different dialect. Just like the previous lakorn, her character sticks out like a sore thumb.

   Yes, it is nice to hear my hometown accent, being a Tai Viengchanh and all but it’s just a bit out of place. I don’t understand why she can’t speak like the rest of the other characters. Is it because of the demand from the audiences to have her speak Lao like that?

   To me it’s almost like she is afraid to speak Thai and even Isan dialect for whatever reason. At the start of her popularity she claimed to speak like five languages almost fluently (Lao, Bulgarian, Thai, English, and Japanese) but during the last couple of years with her appearances on Thai television starting in 2006 she acted as though she didn’t know much Thai and only spoke Lao during an interview.

   In fact in an interview recently on Thai TV, she was asked if she can speak Thai now after being in Thailand working on the first soap and the concert tour and she responded with "phood nit noy" or something along that line. How can you go from claiming to speaking Thai fluently a couple of years before to almost not knowing Thai and not dare try to carry on a conversation in Thai for more than a few words on TV?

   At the same time Russian is another language that was put on the list of her many language skills she possessed.

   I don’t think the majority of the Lao people in Laos care if she speaks Thai. Some are saying she is trying too hard to be Lao while she is for Khon Thai only, whatever that means.

   Alexandra has no problem showing off her English skills though, even at the 2004 Pattaya Music Festival when she spoke English to the audiences. During her tour in the US and Australia last year she was speaking English as well.

   If she can speak Thai fluently, I don’t see why she is afraid that people would say that she is for ‘khon Thai’ only, she is playing a Thai Lakorn, and no matter who you are, acting is acting and good actor/actress should be able to play any role and speak or learn a new dialect, and Issan dialect is not that hard to pick up, or better yet, Thai dialect as she claimed to speak fluently at the very beginning of her career.  I think she is probably the only one in this Lakorn that has the ‘Lao northerner accent’; others would have Issan accent if that’s the region the movie is in.    I think accent is an important part of acting.  I used to love Jean-Claude Van Damme movies until I saw, ‘Double Impact’, where he played a dual role as Alex and Chad, twins separated at the death of their parents. Chad is raised by a family retainer in Paris, Alex becomes a petty crook in Hong Kong, for both roles ‘same accent’, I was so disappointed, I had not watched his movie since.    I guess her fans wouldn’t mind as long as she is playing a part of Nang ake, doesn’t matter about the acting or accent, but I think it’s important to play the part, even Thai actor/actress has to learn the Issan accent when they play the role.  I guess I pay too much attention to little detail, but little details give us better perspective in people.  I don’t like to blindly praise someone. 1
