The Vote for Change
I thought I was the only one that’s unsure of who to vote for, as the primary election rolls around in our area. Surprisingly, even one of my republican co-workers is unsure of her candidate, surprisingly only one left. She is not impressed, and the term that she used was that “he is not strong enough to win the election” (I thought to myself, maybe not strong enough to run the country,) and she might have felt this way because of the shift in attitude of people she spoke to, people that she works with. We could never see eye-to-eye on religion and politic, and for the first time that we feel the same way, that confused, frustrated look staring at each other. I think at the moment the majority of my co-workers are voting Democrat, mainly because people want change.
In the last weeks or so, I received numerous recorded phone calls on my cell phone from Hillary Clinton, might be because I’m a registered Democrat, and I can’t say that this is an effective way of reaching out to people, it could be very annoying, especially when I’m driving down the road. I didn’t have the patience to hear her message, I figured it’s the same as what I read and saw on the news.
I think the feeling that I have is that I don’t want to vote, I’m not impressed with the candidates, and at the same time, I feel the need to vote. As always, when I got my ballot for the primary election, I scanned through the name and voted for the lesser of the evils and hope for the best.
As I got up this morning, the sky is clear, but somehow I feel a dark cloud is hovering over us, I’m wondering when will that go away? Huh, I’m just ranting here.

I am less moody since I don’t get too much into politic anymore. The kids and Mrs Dallas like that very much.
I am still not sure if I want to go vote for the new President but I am still voting for my State Rep and Senators. What I really want is the Congress to approve drilling offshore and in Alaska.
If you feel a dark cloud is hovering over the US, wouldn’t it be an extra incentive to go and vote? And, you feel they are not better than Bush?
I know the Neocons are certainly a bit disappointed because McCain is no hardcore Neocon and, certainly, more on the left side of the Republican spectrum (which is still far right to European standards).
I first learned about these automated calls you mention from a scientific article. It is pretty bizarre. These phone calls are actually targeted to political preference but also ethnicity, gender and more privacy sensitive info.
And in that article those auto-calls were deemed ineffective. I think you would co-sign that.
Yes, I will definitely go and vote, anything is better than our current situation, I certainly didn’t vote Bush into office. I’d say that my co-worker is a true Neocon, as much as I hate war, she still said that she backs Bush 100% because it’s better to have the war over there than here. I think people forget that it’s people’s lives that we’re talking about here. I told her that I can’t agree with that, I lived through a country of war and can’t say that its better that war is anywhere, she obviously can’t comprehend what I’m talking about. I do have to say that she embraced the Neo-conservatism ideology that seeing the America’s role as the world’s sole superpower to establishing and maintaining global order (plus everyone in the US should be Christians, if she could have it her way, she would burn us non-Christians.) Then again, on other notes, I always have a soft spot for people like her.
I think any political change is better than no change at all, something for all of us to think about, if we don’t like what we’re seeing, this is the time to voice our opinion.
Any religion is a good vehicle for aggresive expansionist ideas. On that scale, US Christians with their hate for anything non Christian, in particular Islam, are a terrfic vehicle for hate sprayers. Simple people with distorted ideas fed to them by single controlled sources of information can be controlled easily by the Neocon elites, as was described by Neocon founding father Strauss. There is nothing holy about their talks.
People who believe whatever they’re being fed through their religious institutions by instructions that are not even well aligned with their sacred scripts, do not deserve to lead anything. Who then? The Chinese?
Being led by the Chinese, with their present contempt for human life and the environment, is not a good idea either. Perhaps in a few decades.
There is no simple solution because we all have different needs or wants. It’s sad to see that these religious leaders dictate on who their followers should vote for, if that was me, I would not like it.
The thought of the Chinese leading is a bit scary to me, not so much contempt of their present life and environment as we think, we’re talking about communism ideology here.
Communism in China is only alive in theory. The one thing that drives present China’s is money…
It appears that money makes the world go around and a driven factor for many, and seems that way with China and most Southeast Asian countries, but from my own personal perspective that was forced to leave my homeland because of the communist, there is that lack of trust and I often view the communist regime (even if it’s presently in theory only) as a sleeping tiger, there is a Thai saying, “Once you are on the tiger’s back, you can’t get off.” My dad views the Lao PDR the same way as you view China, that it’s in theory only because if they continue with their practice, they might starve to death. I’m a bit paranoid, maybe I watched too many mafia movies.
Is it socialism or communism?
Anyway, Asian must love it even if is a theory. As long it is does not become a cult of personality like in North Korea and Cuba.
I like to see other political party other than the LPRP, but that is never going to happen.
Dallas, don’t ask me to explain this further (It would be like the blind leading the blind,) but here is the explanation (source)
Socialism and communism are alike in that both are systems of production for use based on public ownership of the means of production and centralized planning. Socialism grows directly out of capitalism; it is the first form of the new society. Communism is a further development or “higher stage” of socialism.
From each according to his ability, to each according to his deeds (socialism). From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs (communism).
Socialism is the first step in the process of developing the productive forces to achieve abundance and changing the mental and spiritual outlook of the people. It is the necessary transition stage from capitalism to communism.
