Here are some photos of Lao New Year celebration at Wat Thong Phang in Vientiane. My aunt Kian went to eight or nine temples for the celebration (13th to 15th of April) while aunt Phone only went to her local temple and at Wat Thong Phang. These photos are from Lao New Year on April 15th, 2008.

where exactly in Vientiane is this temple located? seems to have many interesting statues…

I called my aunt in Vientiane and asked her for the location of the temple. Wat Thong Phong is not difficult to find. It’s on Lak 7. You would travel on the road on the way to Vang Vieng and Ban Thong Phong is right on the main road so you can’t miss it. This village is very old with so much history like Nang See Da, the weaving lady. This is a very popular location for many people in Vientiane to attend Lao new year celebration.
