Another day at the papaya garden
A few weeks ago my two aunts in Vientiane went to visit the relatives on the papaya garden for the second time this year. Most of the papaya trees have been picked and there were not much papayas left to sell to the merchants. These days the merchants would go straight to the supplier and buy in bulk amount to take to the market. In the old day my relatives would have to pick the fruits and vegetables themselves and take to the market. This would take time and doesn’t always guaranteed a good price. It’s better to just focusing on the planting the relatives said and collect money from the merchants.
