Ant egg omelet featured on No Reservations
The land of a million elephants aka Lao was featured on the Travel Channel’s hit program No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain. When in Laos, eat like the Lao do and Bourdain was eager and ready to chow down on egg omelet with what else but ant eggs.
I have never eaten this myself but have had ant eggs in various soups and stews and even goy raw ant eggs. Next time you are in Laos, make sure to ask for ant eggs omelet for breakfast. I bet it goes great with warm sticky rice.
I have seen this a while ago and I have to give “two thumbs up” for Bourdain. The book that accompanies this series is also a good read. Glad to see that he got stuck in to the “Lao Lao”. Cheers!
