Making a living in Laos - Growing fruits

This episode of Tam Kin Yu Tin Lao, Ki Noy takes us to a farm at Ban Duangboudy in Vientiane. This is where Loong Mamua has been growing orange, lamut, rambutan, and mango successfully since 2000, using organic fertilizer.

  1. I couldn’t finish watching the rest of the show. Is Ki Noy suppose to be funny? I didn’t find him very entertaining. I wish he did more of a walking tour (of the farm) instead of sitting in the shade and showing only glimpses of the fruit trees. Very disappointing.

But thanks Darly for sharing, it’s good to know type of Lao shows are being made these days.

  2. Hi Salat,

I know what you mean about his style of interview. Maybe the weather that day was too hot for him to move around too much. I know I would be hiding under the shades too since I’m not used to working on the fields.

I have more episodes to share and it’s an educational program for me like when he visits the dragon fruits farm. I have never seen the plant up close but there is a farm in or near Muang Khao that I want to visit the next time I am in Laos.
