Lao Voices

I’m a big fan of a food show called Menu Today from Lao Star Channel, which is based in Laos. I found out about the show from my two aunts in Vientiane. They watch the show on the weekend and one of them would try to duplicate the dish in an attempt to perfect it and then have me be a taster in the future.

This episode features recipes from BKK Grill restaurant in Vientiane. Check out their three recipes: Kai Ping Spicy or Spicy BBQ Chicken, Ping Pa Salmon or Grilled Salmon, and Ping Sien Yua or Steak Yua, which is Grilled Beef Steak in English.

I didn’t know before they have salmon in Laos and very happy to know it is available in the country. The next time I go to Laos I can make my favorite dish with pa salmon for the relatives to try.
