Lao News for September 16, 2008. Top stories for the day: The 2nd nationwide Lao National Television Meeting held on Monday. The purpose was to review previous works and set future development plan of the Lao National Television.
World Bank official, Mr Ian Porter, General Director of World Bank in Southeast Asia and Pacific met with Dr Thongloun Sisoulith, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs for a farewell visit. Dr Thongloun expressed his thanks for the support the bank has given to the “priority projects of the Lao government”. The bank provided financial assistance to Laos in the amount of US$357 million to cover 28 projects. This amount include the bulk in credit loans at low interest for US$ 329,285,978 and a small portion in grant aid projects for US$ 28 million.
