On November 08, 2008 I attended That Luang Festival. It was the second day of Boun That Luang and since it was Saturday the crowd was getting bigger by the hour. I used to live down the street from Wat That Luang so this event is very special to me. As a little kid I saw the preparation of this festival and then the clean up afterward. Since my school was across the street from Wat That Luang it was an annual event to look forward to and to run to the That Luang ground to check up on the vendors as they were setting up the booths during recess time.
To be back for Boun That Luang 2008 was very special for me. While many things have changed, I felt as though I have never left the old neighborhood. It’s a lot cleaner and more beautiful at That Luang Square. You just have to be there to experience the joy and excitement and understand what I am talking about. For now you can get an idea of the even from the photos and clips that I’ve made during my visit there.
