Dialogue on poverty reduction

(KPL) Mr Sivixai Xaisanavongphet, Deputy-President Supervisor Committee organized a dialogue session on poverty eradication and rural development on 9 October in Vientiane and this session was attended by technical officials, concerned officials and representatives from ministries.

Mr Sivixai Xaisanavongphet said that presently the various sectors had been focussing on materializing the resolutions of the 8th Party meeting, in particular the national poverty reduction planning implementation, with a time frame to fully eradicate poverty by 2015 and to get the country out of the least developed status by 2020.

This dialogue session has a special significance on poverty reduction and rural development as it brings the people who are deeply involved in this programme to crystallize their thinking and to set them in the right direction regarding this task.
