The Xieng Khuang provincial health sector hopes to improve services after receiving support from the Health System Development Project.
The project, implemented by the Ministry of Health, has provided 36 motorbikes to the provincial Health Department to help improve medical services in the province.
The motorcycles, worth more than 343 million kip, were presented to the department on Wednesday.
Deputy Minister of Health Dr Eksavang Vongvichit presented the motorbikes to provincial Deputy Governor Khampian Sinuanthong, who in turn passed them on to provincial Health Department Director Bouasone Sinuanthong.
Mr Bouasone told Vientiane Times on Thursday the vehicles will be provided to some dispensaries in the province as well as health sections at the district level to facilitate their efforts to improve medical services.
The project is supported by the Asian Development Bank.
