(KPL) A charity concert for raising fund to provide aid for the victims of Ketsana typhoon in five provinces was held at Vientiane’s National Culture Hall last Friday.
Speaking at the opening ceremony was the President of the National Committee for Peace and Solidarity, Mr. Khamphanh Simmalavong who said that this concert titled “With Love”, which was an attempt of the six local associations with the aim of raising fund to relieve flood victims of Savannakhet, Saravane, Sekong, Champassak and Attapeu provinces.
The concert was performed by current well-known singers, including Cells, LOG, LA five, Mr. Bo, Tai, Idols, VIP, Benjalin, Star Boy, Buratino, Aluna, Maria, Laorus, Mon, May, Boudda and Lang.
During the concert, representatives of private companies and organisations have donated financial support to the victims of Ketsana tropical storm hitting these provinces late last September.
The concert has also opened hotline, which will be greeted by 10 Misses Aphone Lao 2008.
Local people and foreigners can donate for Ketsana victims through the Lao Journalists’ Association on telephone No 263862 or 5711204.
The concert was jointly organised by the National Committee for Peace and Solidarity, the Lao Journalists’ Association, the Lao Businesswomen’s Association, the Handicrafts Association, the Lao Association of Hotels and Restaurants, and the Foundation of Poor People’s Assistance.
