Aid further flows to flood victims

(KPL) Lao Telecom, Deuansavanh Group, ST Group (M-150 distributor), the Construction and Electric Installation State Enterprise, Lao Kai Yuan and the Lao Phatthana Lottery have made donations of 24.755 billion kip for helping the flood victims in southern provinces of Laos.

The flood caused by typhoon Ketsana ravaged the provinces of Savannakhet, Saravane, Attapeu and Champassak from the end of September to early October this year.

The natural disaster claimed 17 lives, injured 91 people and left one missing. Eleven deaths and one missing were reported in Attapeu, two in Champassak, two in Savannakhet, and the same number in Saravane.

The donations include relief items and cash worth 1.61 billion kip.

At the hand-over held on November 10 at the Prime Minister’s Office, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Somsavat Lengsavat received the donations from representatives of the companies.
