(KPL- E12.11.09.10) The Champassak Grand Hotel would play its part in welcoming the SEA Games and it had been doing it in various ways.

According to the Deputy Director General of the Champassak Grand Hotel, Mr Khamtay Keoduangdy over the past two months his hotel had contributed to the SEA Games in various ways to Lao athletes, such as staying and dining in the hotel for free.
He also said that he would install a large screen in the hotel’s lobby to air the opening ceremony of the SEA Games so that guests and others would be able to cheer the Lao team and enjoy the spectacular show.
“I am confident that this hotel could attract overseas and local guests as it is located on high ground, thereby giving the guests the opportunity to have a good view of the Mekong River and the nearby bridge that connects Laos and Thailand,” said Mr Khamtay.
Mr Khamtay added that the hotel had positioned itself so that it had the capability to serve local and foreign guests during the SEA Games period, 9 to 18 December, 2009, and relating this to food, it had an experienced manager who had trained the local staff to cook Thai, Chinese, European and Lao dishes.
“I would just cite one example, for today, we would be serving a well-known dish of Champassak province, barbecued fish from the Mekong River,” he told the KPL News reporter last week.
Mr Khamtay urged locals and foreigners to visit Champassak province because she had various tourism sites, such as Vat Phou Champassak-listed as a UNESCO world heritage site, Khonephapheng-the largest waterfall in the region, Phasuam waterfall and other scenic sights.
Last but not least he said he wanted the world to know that his province had a saying, “white rice, and beautiful ladies”.
