An agreement for Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) was signed between Director General of LIG Mr. Sengmaly Sengvathana and Managing Director of TBEC, Mr. Gustaf Godenhielm, on 20 November 2009 in Vientiane.

This agreement identifies that it would become a joint venture investment between the two companies of Laos and Thailand. Initially the two companies will invest at least US$4 million to build the biogas factory, which is located in Park Ngum district of Vientiane Capital. The factory is expected to have a daily production capacity of 30,000 cubic metres.

Earlier, the two parties had signed a memorandum of understanding on October 2008.

Mr. Sengmaly said that the Biogas Construction Project would start at the beginning of next year and complete by the end of next year.
