Cambodian, Lao PMs hold talks on border demarcation
PHNOM PENH (Xinhua) — Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and visiting Lao Prime Minister Bouasone Bouphavanh on Wednesday held talks on border demarcation for the two neighbouring countries and bilateral ties.

“We have signed the agreement of border demarcation and we determined that the temporary demarcation markers that border committees from both sides already planted will become the real demarcation markers,” Hor Namhong, Cambodia foreign minister told reporters after over two-hour talks between the two leaders at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
“We remain at about 12 percent of planting border demarcation between the two countries and we are boosting for 100 percent to finish it soon,” he said.
Cambodia and Laos will exchange more students for scholarships, and the Lao Prime Minister also invite d Hun Sen to attend the opening ceremony of the upcoming SEA Games (South East Asian Games) in Laos, Hor said, adding that Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen would attend the ceremony, set for December 9.
Both sides are expanding economic cooperation, and will hold a meeting on multi-cooperation between the two countries in future, Hor added.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, Mr Bouasone is paying a two-day official visit to Cambodia and will be received in a Royal Audience with King Norodom Sihamoni and also pay courtesy calls on Cambodian Senate President Chea Sim and National Assembly President Heng Samrin.
