National day celebrated

(KPL) The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry held here last week a lecture to mark the 34th founding anniversary of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (December 2) and the 89th anniversary of the birthday of the late President Kaysone Phomvihane (December 13).

The lecture was conducted by Deputy-Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Mr. Khamchine Vongphosy, and officials concerned. The virtues and contribution of the late President Kaysone Phomvihane for the national defence and construction as well other national heroes, soldiers and people who dedicated their lives for the national defence and construction during the last three decades were also highlighted at the event.

This celebration is part of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forest’s effort to promote patriotism and courage of the national heroes and enhance the participation in national development of Lao people, as well as the implementation of the resolution of the 8th Party Congress and the sixth national socio-economic development plan of the government for 2006-2010 period.
