“I did my best in my fight and I was satisfied to win my first medal for our federation. I was especially proud to be presented with this medal to add to our boxing tally of 4 silver medals and 5 bronze medals,” said Mr Vilasak.

“This achievement reflects almost a year of hard practice and training at the NationalSports Training Centre in Sikeut village,” he said.

“The 25th SEA Games is another step for our federation which is shown in the number of medals that Lao boxers picked up compared to the five bronze medals we won at the 24th SEA Games in Thailand in 2007,” he said.

Mr Vilasak, based in Borikhamxay province, won 4 gold medals in previous National Games, while this is his fourth appearance at the SEA Games.

Male boxers fought in 10 categories at the 25th SEA Games.
