The Entrepreneurship Training Centre opens in Vientiane

Introduction: The Entrepreneurship Training Centre opened in Vientiane yesterday with the purpose of improving vocational education and training programmes and contributing to economic competitiveness and sustainable development in Laos.

Story: The centre is a joint initiative between the Ministry of Education and Sports and the German Development Cooperation.

German Amb assador Mr Michael Grau and the Director of the Technical and Vocational Education Department, Mr Nouphan Outsa, presided over the opening ceremony.

According to the ambassador, This regional project funded by the German Foreign Office underlines the importance that Asean has in the eyes of my government, and the importance for young entrepreneurs of building a strong basis for the national economy.”

The training centre will be used to upgrade the skills of the Lao workforce, while also functioning as a training and administration centre for in-company training. On this second objective, the facility will be used to provide courses for master trainers and in-company trainin g programmes.”

The German implementing agency for development cooperation GIZ (Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit) will run the training sessions.
