(KPL) The 2nd European Food Festival will be held on Saturday, May 11, at Chao Anouvong Park in Vientiane Capital to mark the 63rd birth anniversary of the European Union and promote European food, trade and investment in the Lao PDR.
The fest will feature various cultural activities, including food decoration, food tasting and cultural performance by students. Meanwhile, well-known drinks from EU member countries will be put on display and available for sales, according to Mr. Michel Goffin, Charge d`Affaires of the European Union Delegation to the Lao PDR.
“This festival attracts over 20 European restaurants. This is a good opportunity for European restaurants to introduce and market European foods in Laos,” Mr. Michel told a press conference last Friday.
There are 70 European restaurants in Vientiane Capital. Four European restaurants have been established in Vientiane following the first European Food Festival.
“European investment in the Lao PDR may be increased if this Food Festival takes place as planned,”added Mr. Michel.
