Introduction: The first Lao Coffee festival will be held at the Pakse district, Champassack province on 24-26 October. According to the President of Lao Coffee Association Foundation, the festival is aimed to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Lao Coffee Association Foundation (1994-2014) and to celebrate the beginning of the coffee harvest season.

Story: According to President of Lao Coffee Association Foundation, Sisanouk Sisombath festival is also held to disseminate the content of the National strategy for promotion of Lao Coffee (Lao Prime Minister Decree No 190 dated 09/06/2014), which aimed to increase the volume of production, to upgrade the quality, to promote the notoriety, to preserve the Bolavens plateau for coffee cultivation, to improve the coffee business environment and to strengthen the capacity of the Lao institutions concern.
The event will also concentrate to promote Lao coffee unique features to the domestic and foreign markets and to make the Bolavens plateau encircling the soil of the three provinces: Champasack, Saravane and Sekong to be known as a single protected production origin.
Sisanouk Sisombath said, the event creates an opportunity for Lao people and general public to better know the whereabouts of Lao coffee, to set up a forum for dialogue and exchange of information on the world coffee market’s situation between the Lao and foreign coffee professional stakeholders.
Coffee tasting experience will be opened to all visitors attending the event.
