Phu Bia Mining and Interplast Australia and New Zealand will deploy a team to deliver plastic and reconstructive surgeries at the Lao-Mongolian Friendship Hospital in Phonsavan, Xieng Khuang province from August 5 to 16.

The Interplast and Mahosot team will conduct a consultation from 9am on Monday, August 5 at the Lao-Mongolian Friendship Hospital. According to the Australian Embassy, Plastic and reconstructive surgery will be performed from August 6 to 15. Patients with conditions including scarring from burns, hand injuries, tumours and cleft lip and palate are urged to attend the clinic day. Patients with common skin diseases or cosmetic conditions will be excluded from this consultation.

The highly skilled volunteer Interplast team comprises two surgeons, two anaesthetists and two nurses. They will be supported by a team from Mahosot Hospital in Vientiane, according to the Australian Embassy to Laos.
