The Lao Businesswomen’s Association sets closer relations in business networking with the international community
Introduction: The Lao Businesswomen’s Association plans to promote its members to become stronger in the business community and develop closer relations in business networking with other Asean nations and the international community.
Story: The association has now put together another five year plan (2014-2019) after successfully implementing the previous one. Speaking at a meeting to introduce the new plan, the association’s President Chanthao Pathammavong said the year 2015 will be a strategic one for many businesspeople in the Asean countries and Lao businesswomen are also urged to be a part of it, competing positively within the Asean Economic Community or AEC.
During the meeting elections were held for the positions of association president, vice presidents and members of management boards to further carry on promoting the business operations of its members. As a result Chanthachone Vongsay was voted in as the new President of the Lao Businesswomen’s Association, while the new vice presidents were Manola Dalavong and Sirikhoun Phoumlavanh along with another nine members elected to the management boards.
During the meeting, Labour Medals Class II, III and congratul atory certificates from the government and the association were presented to members who had distinguished themselves with their business activities over the last five years.
Chanthachone, who was elected as the new president, said the association will continue to promote businesswomen to take part in the development of productivity by using new technologies in their operations to ensure their business is more efficient and has better outcomes.
