Largest Lao Dance (Pasalop Dance) 4,200 Students
The record attempt for the Largest Lao Dance called “Pasalob dance”, a Lao traditional culture, ever held in the Lao PDR took place at Pha That Luang on Saturday 5th April, 2014, drawing more than 4,200 students. The event aims to bring people together as a whole community of Vientiane to promote Lao Culture internationally.
Participants in yellow t-shirts danced and stepped simultaneously according to Lao songs. Pasalop dance is one of the most common dance in Lao PDR. It is popular to social parties, traditional festivals and wedding ceremonies across the country.
The students came from Faculties of Laws and Public Administration, and Engineering of the National University of Laos, Comcenter College, Rattana Business Administration College and Pakpasak Technical Collages, National School of Music and Dance, Vientiane Secondary School and Vientiane-Ho Chi Minh Friendship Secondary School.
