The public will have better access to information on technology and innovation through a new book set to be published next year. The new annual publication will be released in print and online in both Lao and English to promote technology domestically and abroad.
Speaking prior the agreement that signed between the Ministry of Science and Technology and Blue Grass Design Group in Vientiane by Soumana and Blue Grass Design Group Director, Praseuth Banchongphakdy.
Director General of the ministry’s Department of Technology and Innovation, Soumana Choulamany, said the book is expected to hit shelves and the internet before next Lao New Year. Service providers, entrepreneurs and producers will be able to learn about current trends in advanced technology and innovation through the books, information which can be used to develop local industries. Official said, the book would provide details on using and choosing new forms of technology. The ministry is confident the book will bring knowledge on national and international technology and innovation to the wider public.
Government policy aims to encourage people to use modern technology to increase productivity and creativity and be more environmentally-friendly.
The decision to publish a book came after the ministry found a number of researchers lacked an outlet to promote their studies into modern technology.
