24 performers from the Lao Heritage Foundation based in Washington to showcase culture in their motherland
Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos Bouageun Xaphouvong praised a group of 24 young performers from the Lao Heritage Foundation based in Washington for representing and enhancing Lao culture abroad.
Speaking at the courtesy call by 24 young performers from the Lao Heritage Foundation based in Washington, who have come to Laos to share experiences and exchange cultural insights with people in their motherland.
Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos Bouageun Xaphouvong said that all the students, teachers and parents had contributed to the significant task of sharing Lao culture abroad. He added that the ministry acknowledged the dedication and commitment of the students who are still studying and at the same time sharing their culture overseas.
During the five weeks of their tour in Laos, Buageun Xaphouvong has suggested the performers see more of what Lao people have developed, get to know and understand more about the lifestyle of Lao people and the traditional culture of the motherland of their ancestors.
The foundation started visiting Laos in 2011 to refresh their knowledge and understanding of the traditions, music, dance and culture of the country of their parent’s origin and take back new experiences to showcase for the Lao and local people living in the United States.
