A minute’s silence was held throughout Laos today, in memory of the plane crash victims in Champassak.

People across the country silently paid tribute to the 49 victims who perished in the tragic accident.

The nationwide minute’s silence commenced at 2:15pm, with government officials, monks and everyday people taking the time to reflect and mourn those who passed.

So far, the Search and Rescue Committee has retrieved the bodies of 43 of the 49 people who were on board the plane and the search for the remainder is ongoing.
