Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong and his delegation visit Huaphan province to mark Party’s 60th anniversary
Introduction:Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong and his delegation visited Huaphan province on Sunday and Monday to talk with leading and core provincial officials as well as army veterans, to mark the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party on March 22.

The Premiere listened to a report on the province’s socio-economic development from provincial Governor Dr Khamhoung Heuangvongsy. It was reported that in 2014 the economy grew by 11.74 percent while GDP per capita was US$736.
After meeting with officials, veterans and retired officials, Prime Minister Thongsing attended a special ceremony to mark the Party’s 60th anniversary. More than 6,600 officials, soldiers, young people and students from the province were present at the event.
Former Prime Minister General Sisavath Keobounphanh was among those who attended the ceremony which featured songs and cultural performances by students in honour of the special occasion.
It is also reported that the province had more than 14,000 Party members. Statistics revealed that 30.47 percent of families were classified as poor in 2014, while 63 percent of households had access to electricity and 152 communities had been declared development villages.
