Public share their views on what progress has Laos made under Party leadership?
Introduction: On the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (22/3/1955), Our LNTV English News Team asked people for their views on the progress Laos is making along the road to development. Details with our news team Khamdy Bounjalern.

Interview: Khamphanh Sitthidampha, President of the People’s Supreme Court
“Speaking to our news team while attending the Exhibition which recounts glorious 60-year journey of Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, President of the People’s Supreme Court, Khamphanh Sitthidampha said Since the liberation of Laos in 1975, the Party and government have made great strides in the development and protection of our country. He said adding that The Party has also has developed our human resources to drive economic growth. Most importantly, the Party is wise and ready to adjust itself and make policy changes as new circumstances present themselves”

“As we can see, the pace of development is much improved compared to what it was in the past. Living conditions in towns and rural areas have improved, along with infrastructure. Roads and agriculture in particular have been developed to meet the needs of the people and contribute to overall progress. The Party and government continue to lead efforts to address poverty and the slow pace of rural development in order to reduce the development gap between urban and rural areas”

“The Party has played a leading role in driving development over the past 60 years. Laos has undergone rapid development and economic growth and poverty is slowly being eradicated. Roads in particular are much better than they were at the time of liberation in 1975. Laos has political stability and peace, which is an important factor for robust development and attracting foreign companies to invest in Laos, especially in Vientiane. This has provided work for people”

“Under the leadership of the Party, Laos is developing very fast compared to previous years. Transport is very convenient, telecommunications are modernising, and education is being overhauled. The development of human resources is also gathering strength. Most people are literate and many people have completed master’s and doctorate degrees”

“I am very appreciative of the Party’s leadership to lead Lao people to fight foreign aggressors, construct and develop the country. It has brought new changes to the country and the people. The Party has done a great job of leading people of all ethnicities in the tasks of national construction and development”
