Vientiane province celebrates achievements under Party leadership
Introduction:The celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party in Vientiane province has enshrined the achievements of the local people in socio-economic development under the Party’s guidance.
Story: An official meeting to salute the outstanding leadership of the Party was organised at the provincial army command headquarters, witnessed by public servants, government employees, defence and public security forces, and people from other walks of life. In total some 6,500 people attended the celebration.
The anniversary celebration was held in the early morning, with Party Central Committee member and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee as well as provincial Governor Khammeung Phongthady delivering the keynote speech.
He told the audience about the Party’s role and leadership in guiding the entire nation in implementing the mission of national protection and development.
Vientiane province was founded in 1981 by separating from the country’s capital city of Vientiane.
Celebrations of the Party anniversary were also organised in other provinces. Deputy Prime Minister Asang Laoly joined in an official ceremony of celebration in Luang Prabang province, which was held on Monday.
Another celebration took place in Khammuan province on the same day.
